This is a project assignment from Rive course by School of Motion. The design file was provided in Figma, while all animation concepts and the state machine were entirely created by myself.

Motion Design

Try it out!

Interactive design is not about movement—it’s about feedback.

With an extensive background in motion design, translating the visual side of this project into Rive was efficient and intuitive. But the most exciting part wasn't the animation itself — it was building the state machine.

Unlike traditional animation workflows in After Effects, where motion is largely linear and self-contained, Rive operates on a different level entirely. Logic, interaction, and animation are deeply intertwined, demanding a way of thinking that sits somewhere between design and engineering. That intersection is where this project came alive. My engineering knowledge proved invaluable in mapping out each state, defining the transitions between them, and ensuring every interaction triggered exactly the right response — no gaps, no jank, just a seamless flow from one state to the next.

The result is a smooth, polished, and production-ready animation that feels as good to interact with as it does to look at.
